ST. JOHNSBURY RENTAL HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM GRANT

The purpose of the Rental Housing Improvement Program is to encourage landlords to improve rental housing in St. Johnsbury, resulting in more livable, sustainable, and marketable rental units for everyone. Universal Design, energy efficiency improvements, and Fire Life and Safety improvements are strongly encouraged.

Applications will be accepted April 13th, 2026, through June 12th, 2026. Awards are to be announced by July 7th , 2026. Please submit applications to the Town of St. Johnsbury Code Compliance Office, 51 Depot Square, Suite 3, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819. Household Hazardous Waste Days 2026 Collection Events The Town of St. Johnsbury partners with the Town of Burke to offer four Household Hazardous Waste Days. See below for dates and information. St. Johnsbury: Saturday, May 16th and Saturday, September 26th. Burke: Saturday, July 18th, and Saturday, October 17th. All events will be open from 8:30-9 for CEGs* and 9-1 for St.J and Burke residents. *CEGs are Conditionally Exempt small Quantity Generators. These are businesses that generate ~220 pounds of HHW or less per month and generate 2.2 pounds or less of acutely hazardous waste per month.
