Planning Commission

This file contains project documentation for approved and pending Town Initiatives that are owned and/or managed by the Planning Commission. 

The 5 year Municipal Town Plan is a joint venture coordinated by the Planning Commission with the Community. 

An approved Municipal Town Plan is the guiding economic and landuse framework for the town. It documents the Town's direction, goals, policies and approved initiatives for the following 5 years or until an new municipal town plan is approved. 

The Municipal Town Plan is developed under the guidelines established by Vermont Statute 24 VSA §§ 4382 - 4410.

The zoning maps for the Town of St. Johnsbury are published in four quadrants to provide for ease of viewing: Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast.  

The downtown district can be found in the Southwest Quadrant.
